Puppy Love is a family run business. We are Paul and Donna, a husband and wife team who have owned dogs all our lives. We have owned breeds ranging from Labradors and collies to Springer spaniels and Dobermans.
We have owned German shepherds for the last 17 years, and currently own one Bitch. Leah, who is 4 years old. She keeps the dogs in line and ensures that they come back when they are called, stops the play if it gets out of line and is fabulous with the puppies. Our new addition to the family is Elmo, who is a Welsh Cardigan Corgi, this is one of Britain's most vulnerable breeds, with an average of only 60 puppies registered with the Kennel Club each year, so we feel quite privileged to own this intelligent fun loving breed, we may even show him.
Paul started Puppy Love as a Groomer and quickly became known for dealing with the more difficult dogs, this gave him an understanding of how to handle aggressive and uncontrollable dogs.
We have numerous qualifications in dog training & behaviour and have attended courses & seminars with John Rogerson at the Northern centre for Canine Behaviour, Dr Ian Dunbar. We are also qualified to Gold Level with the Academy of Dog Training and Behaviour and recently completed an Instructor's course with the PDTI.
We are First Aid Trained. We have a Professional Diploma in Canine Studies, which includes a Module on Canine Nutrition which is something that we are very passionate about and spend many hours researching. We also worked at crufts as nutritional consultants.
We are conversant with various methods of training and as such we can always find a method to suit both you and your dog.
We are fully insured, police checked and vet recommended.
We work and have worked with some awesome dogs and including our dogs that live with us or have gone onto the next world, we have learnt so much and never stop learning. We feel that it is a privilege to be dog owners.
